I'd like to think all the urban landscape study is paying off.
I just got this massive book of National Geographic photography and in flipping through it i happened upon this one picture taken in 1906 of these diamond miners in South Africa that were riding this trolley up and down a hill. The trolly was essencially a giant board being pulled along these two cables by a system of pulleys... it worked kinda like this, but was much, much safer, i'm sure 8)
Pardon the 'treasure planet' feel. i think it's the pose.
In retrospect, i kinda wish i'd scanned the sketch before i painted it. *shrug*

I like it; it gives a sort of free/fun feeling. Good stuff.

I love it! nice little sketchy lines, and the color is very nice. envy those who can do sceneries.

Actually when I first saw this I was thinking of "Things I wanted to do when I was 5" All the muddy tones made me think of playing outside and building things from junk as a dink.

Really cute.
